I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I sure am!
Friday was a 2 hour early dismissal, yesterday I had a fabulous birthday dinner with my family,
and tomorrow is my 27th birthday!
In addition to working on report cards, science interactive notebooks, and lessons… I have been slaving away at my
and the Giant Peach Book Companion Pack.
THIS IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE READ ALOUDS!
I remember when I read this back in 3rd grade… I couldn’t put it down.
I am so happy that I can now share this book with my kiddos!
This is a 172 page Mega Resource Pack that I created to use with my kiddos as a read aloud, but will also work perfectly if read in small groups or independently. Click on any of the pictures below to see this in my TPT Shop!
Included in this pack:
Before Reading Activities
Provided in list format if discussing as whole group or as half sheet response sheets.
Throughout the Book Activities
11 activities for students to do throughout the book.
Students have to get creative and think outside of the box for these!
I don’t know about your kids but mine love to write newspaper articles more than anything else!
They are going to have a blast doing these throughout the book.
After the Book Activities
Students have to share their own opinion on some of these including coming up with another passenger, which part scared them, and thinking of the outcome if the peach landed some place else.
These would be great in a writing center or early finisher basket! These could be used numerous times throughout the book. Students can practice writing from another person (or insect’s) perspective!
Have your students compare themselves to characters, characters to characters, and the book itself to other pieces of literature.
These could be used as a whole group or small group activity to practice identifying the story elements of each chapter. Students could also work on these independently if books are available for them to reference.
Character Traits Notebook
Have your students use this notebook throughout reading the book to keep track of the characters’ actions and what character traits closely relate.
