It is almost FRIDAY!!
But unfortunately, in my location this weekend is not looking so good.
As many of you might know from previous posts I live on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. We have a nor-eastern coming as well as a hurricane, so chances are it is going to get messy. Ugh... hopefully not too much damage...
fingers crossed! They are calling for millions to be without power.
Yuck!
But on another note...
my adorable second graders are doing a community service project.
Last year we worked with raising money for Heifer International, but we felt that was WAY to abstract for our students.
During one of my team members and my crazy conversations (love her)
we came up with the idea of teaming up with the local SPCA.
I will give you more details about our projects and new learning experiences as they happen.
The volunteer organizer from the SPCA came and talked to our kiddies about animal safety and what the SPCA does. She also brought her rescue dog and four two-week old kittens!
My students worked this week on writing thank you letters to Ms. Katie and her pup Lucy Gaga (such a cute name)!
So while I was stuck home and sick,
I created cat and dog page toppers for them.

These are very cute! Thank you for offering for free! I'm your newest follower!
