Introducing Two Winter Must-Haves

I have been enjoying some time off due to snow and cold temperatures.  As much as I love a snow day here and there I am already SO READY for summertime!

But, during my days off I have been working on two winter packs that I NEEDED for my classroom and I am pretty sure many of you need them too!

First up…

winter olympics blog

With the Olympics fast approaching, I realized that I had no up-to-date resources to share with my kiddos.  I searched the internet for kid-friendly sites but was not impressed with what I found.  So I created this reading resource!!

See if this video gets you excited Smile

Next up…

winter math game blog

My math kiddos benefit from repeated practice of basic skills.

(I am sure many of your kiddos do as well!)

These math games are perfect for first, second, and even third grade classrooms! These would be wonderful warm up games, centers, or even early finisher activities. They take minimal prep--- print (fully colored or partially colored), laminate, grab a few items from your room (dice, cards, markers, dry erase markers), and you are ready to go!!!

Games Included:
Snowball Knockout- Practices adding two numbers under 6 and counting on 3.
Skating Through the Odds- Players add two or three numbers and identify whether the number is odd or even.
Closing in on the Target- Practices finding the three numbers that when added will get them closest to 20 without going over.
Puzzling Igloo- Players must complete the igloo by putting a number on each ice block that when added to the other ice blocks- the total is the number provided in the directions.
Fitting it All Together- Players will find multiple addition combinations to total a number.
Double and Cover A- Players practice doubling a number from 1-6.
Double and Cover B- Players practice doubling a number from 2-12.
