Jumped on the Bandwagon & Made it Monday

I am linking up with Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics again for wonderful Made It Monday!
Made it Monday!

For the past couple weeks I have been ewwing and ahhing over the toolboxes many teachers have been creating.  It was on my list of 1000 things to do before school starts.  But honestly, I didn't think that I would shop and start the project at 11 p.m.  I was over my teacher friend's house, (Odette), and we were drooling over the ones we found on Pinterest.  Even though we had chicken in the oven and pasta in the pot, we turned the oven and stove off, and  headed to buy the supplies we needed.  We picked up the toolboxes from Home Depot and they were on sale.  Yippee!  They were $17.47 a piece.

Then we ran to Walmart and Target because Michael's was closed.
When we got home we ate and then got to work!

We couldn't find scrapbook paper we liked and we didn't want to print digital paper since it would use so much ink.  So as we were walking through Walmart and I found my best friend.... DUCT TAPE!  Why didn't I think about this earlier!!??  In the picture above you can see that I took small strips of the duct tape to figure out how I would organize the colors of tape.  I highly recommend this!  I used duct tape on the drawers, letter stickers for the large drawers, and for the small drawers I printed black backgrounds and white text on labels.
Here is my final project, which I can't stop staring it! I love it!

I hope my version inspires you!
Very soon my blog will be looking much different!  Jumping Jax Designs is working to redesign it for me.  I can't wait! :)

  2. I have no idea what this 'Duct-tape' is, but you have used it brilliantly on your toolbox. You could make a fortune selling these...

    1. It is similar to masking tape but has a stronger hold. They use to only make it in a silver color and it was used around the house. But now they are making it in all different colors and designs!

  3. I had absolutely no intention of doing one of these toolboxes. None. Until I saw your post. Incredibly clever and totally adorable. Honestly, best I've seen out of all the posts and pins being shared. I've used mini drawers in my cabinets for years and this would be perfect. Thank you so much for sharing. :)

  18. Absolutely Love THIS! Now, I need to run to Lowe's (we don't have a home Depot) and get everything I need. I like the duct tape idea rather than scrapbook paper. Duct tape is sooo much easier! BTW, I am now a new follower. Come check out my 2nd grade blog sometime!-Kristi
