I just wanted to give you a preview and a freebie of my new pack. I started this pack over two weeks ago. But then life happened. I became an aunt a little earlier then expected and shortly after I lost a dear friend at the young age of 30. Obviously, I put a hold on this and just returned to it yesterday.
I am very excited for this pack. I already know how I am going to use it in my own classroom for some whole group lessons, as well as small group, and individual reteaching.
Included in this pack are 10 articles on elephants, rhinoceroses, spider monkeys, alligators, crocodiles, zebras, pandas, sea otters, sloths, snow leopard, and Burmese pythons.
Each article is written in the same structure
with an intro, subtitles, and text features.
Each article comes with a KWL chart to use prior to reading and after reading.
Each article comes with word development pages that match the words to know box from the article, as well as a blank word development page if students find another challenging word in the text.
A main idea and supporting details organizer is provided. A set of summarizing sheets are also included and provide the students with an organizer, format, and blank writing sheet for a complete summary. (This could help you differentiate within your class Or as a whole group, one might be more appropriate than the other.)
Comprehension Questions with selected answers and short answers are included.
Answer guides are provided.
Brochures are included for each article, which require students to extend the article and new learning using critical thinking skills. They just need to be copied front/back and folded. Below is the brochure for alligators and crocodiles. There is one for each article.
An author’s purpose activity is included, which requires students to decide the purpose and provide evidence. This activity is provided for each article.
You can check out this pack in my store by clicking on any of the pictures. Be sure to download the preview in my shop to get a free article and KWL chart!
I am giving away two packs. Make sure you follow my blog & TPT store and leave a comment below I will pick a winner Monday at 9 pm.
Good luck!
