Happy Friday Friends!!
I am linking up with Kacey over at Doodlebugs for
Here are my 5 random things…
1. I AM AN AUNT!!!
My sister had this beautiful baby boy a little earlier than expected.
She had a scheduled c-section for February 20th!
Mommy and Colton are healthy!
2. New Blogging Series
I started a new blogging series that I will regularly add to. I started to use Interactive Science Notebooks in my classroom.
I AM LOVING THEM SO FAR!
I am going to share what works, what doesn’t, and the resources I create for my unit for
FREE
The magical word
A new post will be coming this weekend but
here is the link to my first post!
3. Fruit Roll Up Fortune Cookies for Valentine’s Day
This is the sweet treat I made for my kiddos!
Here is a link to a ton of sites with directions!
4. Student Goal Setting
Last term we started goal setting with our kiddos. We assigned them goals based on their individual needs. This term we wanted to step it up a notch… the students are going to develop their own goals. I created the freebie posted below for the students to use. They will pick a “value” and create a list of ideas on how they can work to consistently demonstrate that value. (That is done on the top paper on the top half of the page.) I will then file this paper in a safe place. Students will return to this paper at the end of the term to use the bottom half to assess how they did working on their goal. The second paper is going to be used on a weekly basis for students to reflect on how well they worked on their goal. This paper will be copied and put in a folder, while the original will be sent home to keep parents aware of how well their child is working on their goal.

5. What I Am Currently Working On
I have been MIA lately and I can completely blame my adorable nephew for that
But I am slowly working (with hopes of finishing this weekend) on a nonfiction article pack that I am PSYCHED about! I am writing ten articles about animals that include a variety of text features. Each article will come with multiple activities to practice many skills. I personally feel like students can NEVER get enough nonfiction text. I can’t wait for it to be complete to use with my kiddos! Keep your eyes peeled!
Happy Friday!
