Hello Blogger Friends!

So the day is finally here, my first blog post... EVER!  :)   This past year I have spent countless hours "blogstalking" and gained amazing insight into other teacher's classrooms around the country.  As a first year teacher these blogs inspired me to think outside of the box and truly gave my students more creative educational experiences.   Thank you all!

Please let me introduce myself... My name is Tracy and this fall I will begin my second year as a 2nd grade teacher in Baltimore, MD.  I am 26 years old and live on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay.  (This is where my inspiration came for the name of my blog!)  Every morning I wake up to this incredible view!

I have a puppy, named Miller, who is lucky enough to live here too and frequently gets to frolic in the water, attempting to catch the bubbles he makes. :)

As for me,  I graduated from York College in 2008 with a degree in Behavioral Sciences and Psychology.  From the time I was 15, I babysat and worked at camps with children but never realized that it was what I wanted to do as a career.  Once I graduated I had trouble finding a job due to the state of the economy.  Eventually I took a job at a financial company and while there realized I missed my calling.  I only stayed there for nine months and was ecstatic when I found out I was accepted into the one year MAT program at Towson University for Early Education.  After graduating, I was lucky enough to be offered a position in 2nd grade at one of my internship sites.  I was one HAPPY girl!  The school is absolutely amazing, with supportive staff and parents,  and wonderful children!  A close friend of mine at the school is Lyndsey from A Year of Many Firsts.  She is so inspiring and has mentored me in beginning this blog.

I can't wait to start sharing my classroom, activities, ideas, etc.  Please check back soon!  More to come!  Much, MUCH more :)
