Sending Smiles to Sandy Hook

I know that many of us have been glued to our TV's trying to understand why someone would do this.
Parents are wondering what to tell or not tell their children.
Teachers are concerned with their kids tomorrow
and how much they know or don't know.
I wanted to have my kids do something for Sandy Hook Elementary.
I do not know what my school will say as far as if it should be discussed or not.
I created an activity for my students to do to send to people who need some extra holiday cheer this year.
They will not know where it is going...only to someone who needs it.
(shelter, hospital, nursing home, etc.)
I will use these as examples.
My kids will create a portrait of themselves with a cheesy smile.
They will send their smile this holiday season.

If you are looking for resources for parents or yourself on how to talk to children about the tragedy
